It's a big day for Shay Given today, with the Aston Villa goalkeeper making his first return to St James' Park since leaving Newcastle United in January 2009. The 35-year-old spent almost 12 years on Tyneside after joining from Blackburn in 1997, making 461 appearances and playing under eight managers. Doesn't he look young in this photo (taken just after he joined)? He is a bit older and wiser now, and no doubt he will get a great reception from the Toon Army....

Here's something we've seen a few times already this season. Demba Ba celebrating a goal. Not much has gone right for the Magpies since he put them ahead, though.

Not much has gone right for the Magpies since he put them ahead, though. 1430:  I've just seen that Ryan Taylor injury again, and you can see why he was, seemingly, badly hurt. It is a genuine attempt by Villa defender Stephen Warnock to block the ball but he is high and wild with his challenge and actually does the damage when he catches Taylor with his trailing leg....

This was the Papiss Demba Cisse rocket which won the game for Newcastle. It was a real net-buster so make sure you watch it on MOTD2 later tonight.
